Maternity Wear: YAY or NAY?

Being pregnant can sometimes cause chaos to your wardrobe and fashion sense. The first three months will make you want to almost give up in life, especially if you suffer from a bad case of morning sickness like me! Then you will see yourself wearing the same thing almost everyday because you just cannot be bothered to even look at yourself in the mirror, what more decide on what to wear?

Then, when the tummy starts to grow and the body expands sideways, you will realise that almost everything in your current wardrobe does not fit you anymore. Another cause of misery. I had to do quite a serious case of shopping when that happened to me. But you cannot possibly keep shopping for new clothes, right? I mean, what happens to those clothes the moment baby is out? I am not too sure about you, but I know I will need to lose some weight.

How now brown cow? Maternity wear?

HONESTLY SPEAKING, I HAVE NEVER FOUND MATERNITY WEAR APPEALING.

Besides the fact that they will normally cost more than normal wear, they usually look very….BORING. Big oversized dresses with funny prints, flare tops, and baggy pants, just to name a few. Urgh!

The clothes are supposed to show off that bump, not hide it! So why must they make maternity wear so big and baggy?

As such, I have never owned a single maternity wear for the many times I got pregnant.

But when I chanced upon Jump Eat Cry (www.jumpeatcry.com), a Singapore-based eCommerce store that sells Maternity and Nursing Wear, I changed my mind totally!

I didn’t know maternity and nursing wear could be so stylish AND Super affordable! We are looking at an average price of $35 per outfit. Definitely a rare find. And what’s more, they have a massive collection of maternity and nursing wear! New arrivals every week too.

And so I decided to shop for my first ever maternity wear. Then decided again to add to cart my second and third outfits. LOL.

Want to see what I bought?

VERY PLEASED, IF I MAY ADD.

This one, a very simple dress but it is also must have! Can pair it with my favourite outerwear or accessories, or just wear it on its own for that sophisticated look.
