#MyMandai Moments

The wildlife parks are a treasure trove of memories for almost every family here in Singapore.

Whenever someone mentions the Singapore Zoo or Jurong Bird Park, I cannot help to recall my early memories and unforgettable moments with my family at these wildlife parks.

One of my best #MyMandai moments was during one of my primary school excursions where I had my photo taken with an orang utan. The very thought of bringing back the polaroid photo to show my parents and siblings made me beam with pride.

Yes, it was a big deal to me back then.

Gosh.

I have been to the zoos many times playing different roles each time – as a daughter, student, preschool teacher, primary school teacher, mummy, and of course, as a proud Singaporean. Indeed, I have had many great #MyMandai moments over the years.

IF ONLY I COULD FIND ALL THE OLD PHOTOS AND SHARE THEM WITH YOU! URGH.

Nobody ever gets sick of the Singapore Zoo. Not me. Not my family. Definitely not my kids.

They went to the zoo when they were still toddlers.

zb17

zb3

They went to the zoo with their teachers and friends when they were preschoolers.

zb18zb5

They went to the zoo recently when they are already in primary school!

zb2

zb11

zb14

It’s like, you can never say no to spending quality family time there because there are just so many activities to do and animals to look at.

And it’s especially fun when you get to show off your intelligence once in a while to your kids by telling them things they do not know about the certain species of animals there. And then they will go, “Wahhhhhhhhh!” or “Really Mummy? I didn’t know that!” HAHAH. Kids these days are too smart; we need opportunities to outsmart them sometimes.

Them with the fake crocodile.

zb7

And following picture was taken by Sharleez during her school excursion.

Real crocodile! She went home and showed me this photo ever so proudly! She was like, “Mummy, I took picture of a real crocodile! Can you believe it?” This is definitely Sharleez’s very own #MyMandai moment.

 zb10

It’s very exciting to know that the Mandai area will be rejuvenated into a complete nature destination. I was informed that they are hoping to bring the Bird Park over and add more nature attractions in the Mandai area! The first phase of this rejuvenation will be completed in 2020. This is definitely awesome! Imagine having all the wildlife parks within the same area!

How about you?

What are your #MyMandai moments? Was it a school excursion when you were young, or a recent trip with your family? Well, now you can get rewarded by just sharing your photos. , just by sharing your #MyMandai moment, you will get a S$10 voucher. That’s not all – the most moving entry every week gets S$100 voucher. So go share your photos now at http://www.mymandai.com . I have submitted mine, go check out the website now. I had a great time browsing all the memories from different visitors – some even dated as far back as 1970s! How precious!

ALL THE BEST!

Selfie in a studio: iSnap

When was the last time I actually went to a photo studio to have photos taken with the family?

abc34

Imagine going to a professionally-equipped personal photo studio with various backdrops/costumes/props for you to choose from, and armed with DSLR cameras and studio lightings for you and your loved ones to take fun and endless number of photos…

WITHOUT THE NEED FOR A PHOTOGRAPHER!

In other words, it is like taking a proper selfie using professional camera and lightings instead of mobile phones!

abc35

So the other day, I decided to spend my girls day out with my three daughters by surprising them with a visit to iSnap!

 abc16

iSnap is the first photography company in Singapore that offers various professionally-equipped personal studio rooms for you to take personal or selfie photos of yourselves, friends or families without the need of a photographer.

They have 6 individual studio rooms in total with a total of 24 themes/backdrops for you to choose from!

Individual rooms means privacy for you and your loved ones!

THEY WENT BONKERS THE MOMENT THEY SAW THE COLLECTION OF COSTUMES AND PROPS!

I am not kidding! They could not decide on which costume to wear first so I told them to keep calm and listen to what the staff from iSnap had to say.

abc36

  1. First, choose the backdrop that you would like & let the helpful staff know

abc37

  1. Choose the costumes and props you would like to wear

 abc33

  1. Go to the studio room with the chosen backdrop

 abc31

  1. Close the door to ensure that you get all the privacy that you need
  2. Look at the big screen and position yourself for the camera

 abc29

 abc27

  1. Now you are ready to snap, snap, snap using the remote shutter

abc26

  1. Once you are done with the backdrop, you can choose another backdrop!

ONCE WE UNDERSTOOD HOW iSnap WORKS, I GAVE THE GIRLS THE PERMISSION TO GO CRAAAAAAAZY.

The girls wanted to be animals first. So we chose a backdrop with a safari theme, and then proceeded to choose our animal costumes!

No prize for correctly guessing what happened next.

WE WENT WILD, LITERALLY.

 abc22

abc15

abc17

Now all the photos taken in the studio that I am showing are the digital copies that iSnap allowed us to bring home!

Next, the girls decided that they wanted to be characters from Frozen! So what did they do? Choose the backdrop. Choose the costumes. Proceed to the studio room with the chosen backdrop. Close the door. Snap away! (Mind you, they took the photos themselves while I had a breather outside.)

Let it go, let it go

Can’t hold it back anymore

Let it go, let it go

Turn away and slam the door

abc23

abc20

abc5

SO MUCH FUN, RIGHT?

Indeed. My girls kept on laughing and giggling.

Next change? They wanted to be pixies! LOL.

 abc2

 abc1

Then they decided to cast a spell on me and turn me into a frog.

 abc13

The spell did not work obviously because you can never wish for a bad thing to happen to your mummy. LOL.

So they had to settle for a loving mummy instead.

Awwwwwwwww.

abc10

And last but not least, we decided to just sit on go easy and sit on the swing chair for some photos with our actual outfits.

 abc9

I then let the girls take charge and left them on their own while I had a quick chat with the staff from iSnap.

I was laughing uncontrollably when I viewed the photos later on.

YOU SEE LAH!

abc32

abc12

abc7

abc8

abc19

Yes, there is no limit to the number of photos you take within that one-hour of booking!

The best thing is, you get to keep all the digital copies of the photos taken in high-res, and they will even print out for you 5 chosen photos FREE!

abc28

Thank you iSnap for such a fun and memorable experience!

 abc25

Barely five minutes after we left iSnap and my girls were asking whether we would be making another visit to iSnap! It was obvious they enjoyed themselves truly.

You want JUICY NEWS?

I love anything SunMoon for myself and my girls.

Remember I blogged about SunMoon Fruitcups HERE?

This time round, I am going to share with you their new SunMoon HPP juices!

HPP JUICES? WHAT IS HPP?

 sun-5

For starters, HPP stands for High Pressure Processing, which is a cold pasteurization technique consisting of subjecting fruits previously sealed in flexible and water-resistant packaging to a high level of hydrostatic pressure. It is the same effect as subjecting the fruit to an ocean depth of 60km deep – if an ocean this deep existed, that is! High Pressure Processing is a natural environmentally friendly process that respects the ingredient and helps retain the original flavour and nutrients in fruits.

IN SIMPLER WORDS,

SunMoon HPP Juices are as fresh as the juices direct from the fruits!

What flavours are there?

–        Orange Goodness

–        Mixed Berries Madness

–        Lychee Luscious

So I got my girls to try out the juices that day.

sun-1

As usual they could not wait to try anything new. Just look at their impatient faces! Let’s not forget the squabbling and all.

HAHAHA.

Then, the moment they got to taste the juices, they were as quiet as mouses.

sun-3

Verdict?

My girls especially loved the Lychee and Orange Goodness flavours!

sun-7

YUMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYY.

sun-4

SunMoon HPP Juices have NO sugar added, NO preservatives and NO artificial flavourings and colourings.

THIS MEANS YOU CAN DRINK AS MANY BOTTLES AS YOU WISH WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY!

Most importantly,

Healthier Choice and halal certified too!

So since SunMoon HPP Juices contain no preservatives, how long can they last then?

They can be kept up to 45 days when stored in chilled condition, which means you can stock them up and enjoy them for a longer period of time.

How much is it?

Only $2.95 a bottle, and freshness guaranteed!

Where to get it?

www.sunmoondirect.com and most 7-Eleven stores island-wide!

Whatever ordered via www.sunmoondirect.com will be delivered to your doorstep!

They even sell fresh fruits, and I ordered them online! HEHE.

sun-6

The best thing is, you will get to enjoy FREE DELIVERY with any order of $40!

The Reveal.

My girls, they want to do whatever I am doing.

THEY ARE SUCH CUTE COPYKITTIES (a nicer and cuter way of calling them copycats lol)!

We share the same interest in music because they basically listen to whatever I listen to. How convenient.

Our conversations will be mostly about music on most days. We talk about the artistes like they are friends we hang out with. LOL.

For instance,

Me:

Did you guys know that Sandra (from The Sam Willows) does yoga?

Myreen:

Yah lah I know. She does it every time.

Sharleez:

And she always has a band around her left arm.

Mysha:

I wonder where she does her hair. It is so nice!

Myreen:

Aiyah, I think from Shunji Matsuo. Check her IG lah.

—————————————————-

Yes, if it is not obvious enough, their recent craze is The Sam Willows. Now my next question will be, who did you think introduced them to The Sam Willows?

YOURS TRULY, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

We sing along to songs from Backstreet Boys, One Republic, Muse, Keane, Imagine Dragons, The Beatles, The Killers, Demi Lavato, P!nk, Taylor Swift, and so on. The list is of course, non-exhaustive.

My girls talk exactly like me. Sharleez especially reminds me a lot of myself when she talks because she always has her hidden jokes. And she is a super sarcastic person too. So each time I get annoyed at them, I will pause and think, “Hey, they are just like me. I must be that annoying to others as well.”

It is nice to know that I am my daughters’ role model and they find me cool! HAHA. That was my ultimate goal when I first became a mummy.

My daughters are indeed my best friends. I mean, we practically do almost everything together. At this present moment, they want to be included in almost everything that I do. I am just thinking whether this would be the case when they grow up into teenagers. By then, their mummy would not be so cool anymore to them. Boohoo. With the social media influence and rapid pace of technological change, I expect them to look up to a certain celebrity or icon as their ultimate role model anytime soon. Would they want to include me in their lives still, or would I be a total hindrance? Boohoo again.

But hey, everyone needs a good role model.

As a blogger myself, it is not a surprise if some of my followers refer to me as their role model too. Some will always support me in everything I do. Some just follow me because they want to be busybodies. LOL. Some do not really like me that much but still follow me because they want to be updated with the good and bad in my daily life. LOL again. Do not worry, I am cool about it.

My mission as a social media influencer is to influence, inspire and motivate in the most natural way possible via my blog and other social media postings. I do not like to be seen as perfect because the reality is, my life is far from perfect. If you have been following my recent Facebook posts, you would have noticed my frequent meltdowns. Please just blame it on my PMS. It is never easy being a woman.

My point is, I can always choose to abstain from showing you the other side of me or my life. But hey, I want my followers to see that I am just like everyone else too, with bad days and all. I am loving, clumsy, careless, candid, comical, temperamental, and easily agitated. Yes, I am all that and more. Now, of course you should know my style by now – I do not exactly share everything with you. Only stuff that I feel will not do much harm to those reading it. I am pretty much selective. If they can benefit or learn a thing or two from my posts, all the better.

Back to my girls.

We have a new baby.

Okay please do not get so paranoid and just continue reading to know more about our new baby.

Most importantly, the baby is definitely not the pregnant kind of baby.

.

.

.

.

.

Disappointed already? LOL.

Read on if you still want to find out.

I have promised my girls some time back that I will let them blog like me once the time is right. And they have been pestering me ever since.

I kept forgetting. I kept being preoccupied with other things. I kept telling myself that I would work on it the next day. And when the next day came, I would forget all about it.

When I had a conversation with my sister the other day, she told me that I should have done this waayyyyyyyyyyy back. I recall her telling me, “Go lah, go and do this. It’s something for you and the girls to be proud of.”

I brainstormed with her for ideas. It is not going to be just a blog. It is going to be everything included into one website, and Ili will be in charge of the web design. Thanks Ili (hello@sprinkieparties.com) for your help!

Now now now, you know how much I love dressing my girls up, don’t you? I have been doing this ever since they were born, and I am still not sick of dressing them up. To me, it is just like a good habit of mine which I believe has been successfully passed on to them. My girls take pride in the way they dress up, and I am not complaining. Kids who dress up or take the effort to look presentable for themselves and others will always feel good about themselves everywhere they go. I think that is definitely a good head-start as far as self confidence is concerned. What do you think?

So yes. Besides setting up a blog for the girls, I was thinking that I should also sell brand new kids clothing. Now when I talk about kids clothing, I am referring to the kind of clothes that I will normally buy for my girls. I mean, each time I post their photos online, I will have people asking me to share where I shop for their clothes.

Kids Rule @ Fish & Co.

My lovely twins turned seven yesterday!

My intention was to surprise them. One of the surprises was the staycation at D’Resort Downtown East a day before their birthday. (You can read my daily updates via my Facebook: Diah Mastura Roslan) If that was not enough, I planned another surprise for them on their birthday. I thought it would be nice to have simple celebration with them first while waiting for the actual celebration this weekend, together with the big family.

It was supposed to be just lunch at their favourite family chain restaurant…

Fish & Co.

FC14

Well, I know for certain that it would make them so happy to know that we would be having lunch at Fish & Co. because each time we go out and I ask them to suggest a place to dine at, they will ALWAYS suggest Fish & Co. But of course, we cannot possibly be dining at Fish & Co. every single day, can we?

So yeah, girls chose their favourite from the KIDS MEAL!

FC5

CAPTAIN HOOK, BUT OF COURSE!

FC21

I asked them to look at the menu, but they still told me they wanted Captain Hook.

LOL THEY ARE HOOKED, ALRIGHT.

FC1

So now they are big enough to order their own food, huh?

FC3

And as usual, they begged me for the soup of the day.

THEY SIMPLY LOVE THE CHOWDER SOUP AT FISH & CO.

Me too, actually, I think they have the best chowder soup.

You know, I really love ordering the Kids Meal for the girls. Besides not having to worry that the portion will be too big for them, I like what comes together with the meal.

At just $8.95, every Kids Meal comes with:

  • 1 choice of side order
  • 1 choice of drink
  • 1 choice of dessert

PLUS ALL OF THE BELOW!

FC13

FC2

But wait, now that Children’s Day is coming, perhaps I should also let you know that…

all kids will eat for free at Fish & Co. on 9th October 2015!

FC19

YES, EVERY KIDS MEAL WILL BE FREE WITH EVERY ALA CARTE MAIN COURSE PURCHASED!

JUST LOOK AT THE CHOICES AVAILABLE FOR THE KIDS!

FC25

It’s only fair. Parents, you cannot possibly expect to eat for free on Children’s Day, right?

So just take a wefie and move on.

FC4

Okay so we took another wefie before moving on.

FC15

My fellow adults and those young at heart (only), you know you too have so many choices to choose from, right?

I ordered this for myself yesterday!

Seafood Platter for 1

It is so nice to know that the whole platter set is really just for you, isn’t it? Sometimes, it can be quite a heart pain to share something so nice.  LOL.

FC7

Tatek ordered the usual!

 Stingray with Black Pepper Sauce

You need to try this if you have yet to. Just imagine the soft and succulent flesh dripping with black pepper sauce. Whenever Tatek eats this, he will always forget to ask me whether I want some. Same thing happened yesterday. Not too sure whether he does it on purpose all the time.

FC9

Oh for starters, we had the Buffalo Drumlets!

FC8

Need you ask whether we enjoyed our lunch?

IT WAS SUPERB AS USUAL!

Once we were done with lunch, the awesome bunch from Fish & Co. surprised the girls with a birthday song and a hot fudge cake each!

FC24

THANK YOU SO MUCH, YOU GUYS!

FC23

(Can we have every birthday celebration at Fish & Co. please? LOL)

FC18

Hope you enjoyed your birthday celebration, Mysha and Myreen!

Hope you will continue to be each other’s best friend.

FC6

And Kakak’s best friends too lah okay. (Otherwise, she would be all alone.)

FC12

I LOVE YOU GIRLS SO VERY MUCH.
