Live Well. Laugh Often. Love Much.

Bob The Builder.

…just that there’s no Bob in our case.

No Phua Chu Kang either.

ONLY SHAFEE.

HAHA.

Yesterday was day one of our renovation, you know?

Before the renovation commenced, we arranged to have breakfast with Shafee at the nearby coffee shop. One of the many things I love about our new place is how it is conveniently located.

Hacking started as early as 9.30 am. You know, I hated it when there was someone in the same block renovating the house because the hacking and drilling really drove me crazy. Well, I am sure all of you hate it too. Who likes noise? So when it was finally our turn yesterday to get our house hacked, drilled and whathaveyous, I could not possibly expect everyone around to be tolerant of the noise right? I felt so paisey throughout the entire hacking process yesterday because I was so sure we disturbed the peace in the entire neighborhood.

OOOPS SORRAAAAYY, NEIGHBOURS!

But what to do, now I truly understand that’s how it is whenever there is renovation. I promise to be more tolerant than ever in future whenever my neighbours renovate their house. Lol.

Here it is, my RED carpet, right before the hacking started.

Time to hack!

The drama queens could not believe their eyes when we brought them to the house later in the evening.

“OH MY GOODNESS, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HOUSE?”

“I DONT WANT TO LIVE IN THIS HOUSE LAH! NOT NICE LIKE THIS.”

“MUMMY, SO THIS IS RENOVATION? WE NEED TO WAIT A BIT BEFORE THE HOUSE BECOMES NICE AGAIN?”

No prize for guessing who said what.

Don’t worry, he was not finding a good spot to hang himself or anything like that. He is a professional engineer, checking for certain stuff before he could give us the green light to hack certain parts of the house.

Goodbye bathtub. The sight of you is always very tempting but I guess you are better off at the hotel, for my future staycations. :S

Thank goodness that our new neighbour was so accommodating and she is really friendly too. She paid us a little surprise visit yesterday, introduced herself, and asked us how long the entire renovation would take. She even apologized for asking that! Awww. I am just glad she was honest enough to tell us that the reason why she asked such a question was because her kids were studying.

Guess her kids and her have no other choice but to tolerate. Poor them. Oh well, when we live together in a neighborhood, I think it is VERY important for us to be tolerant of each other, and understand that everyone has his/her different ways of doing things. Respect each other’s privacy and rights.

Of course, there are certain things which I cannot and will never tolerate like…

Body odour.

A super nosy neighbour.

HAHA. DON’T JUDGE ME BECAUSE I AM HUMAN TOO, JUST LIKE YOU.

I mean, of course we all want to be friendly with our neighbours but we also need our privacy and space. some neighbors may be too friendly that they start to become pesky. Everything also they want to know, everything also they want to see. Agree? And ya come on, who likes body odour? But ironically, people with body odour often fail to realize that their body stinks big time. This reminds me of a story which Daddy told me. HAHA! He actually ever told off this person and asked him this,

“How can you go to work everyday smelling like that?”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Anyway….

Back to my original topic. I have this really bad tendency to digress and talk about other things when there are just too many things on my mind. I tend to do that even when I talk to people. So if you ever talk to me and you notice me digressing, that means I am super stressed.

I am really pleased with the progress of the renovation this far. The contractors do not seem to slack, and they managed to hack almost everything yesterday. There is this one particular contractor which I really like because he is just super hardworking and friendly.  I call him Abang. Lol. I do not know his real name lah! I will find out his real name real soon because calling someone “Abang” just gives me goosebumps.

Today, the electrician dropped by to discuss with us the position of the power points and all.

He even drew out the plan nicely to make sure we were on the same wavelength. Impressive! I was also impressed of the fact that he is a left-hander, just like me! Haha. No wonder he could draw pretty well.

Tatek and Shafee told the electrician man that I would put up his picture at my blog and he immediately went,

“EH DON’T, PLEASE DON’T LEY!”

Okay lor, cannot put face put side profile then. Hahahaha.

Later on, Shafee arranged for the aircon man to drop by to discuss the repositioning of some of the air conditioners.

And yup.

Do you seriously want me to continue with this reno talk?

Don’t. I might just transform into Phua Chu Kang.

It’s amazing how Shafee can still maintain his cool level despite being in the renovation line for this long. I like how we can joke with him like we have known him forever, and make the entire renovation process a stressless and super fun one! Ever since day one of our renovation, Shafee has been visiting the site daily to give instructions to his workers, and to ensure that everything is in place and as planned. Seriously, not every ID or project manager will be bothered/have the time to do that. That’s why I told you this Shafee is different. Can you believe it, he is forever rushing from one site to another? That’s how dedicated and passionate he is. You know, I personally feel that it’s not the renovation company that matters; it’s the person taking charge of your project that matters. Look at it this way; you engage a very prestigious or popular renovation company, but the ID/project manager in charge hardly has time for you or your project, and rarely visits the site to know what exactly is going on. Would you like that? Well, if you were to engage Shafee as your project manager, you can be rest assured that you are in very good hands.

I WILL PROVE IT TO YOU. (DON’T FAIL ME, SHAFEE.)

In fact, Shafee even invited us over to his house yesterday to have a further discussion on the renovation and final design (yeah right!) for the house.

Then right, he showed us his super huge bedroom and his awesome walk-in wardrobe.

CHEYY. JEALOUS MUCH.

But one of the many perks for the past two days has got to be this little girl named Aina!

Such a beauty right, this Japanese mix girl? She is Shafee’s daughter! Same age as my twins, some more. 🙂 Finally got the chance to meet her, and I am just so glad we both had a really good start. Lol.

(I think she likes me.)

You have been waiting to know which renovation company Shafee is from right?

Hmmm.

Keep on reading then. Don’t you just love the suspense? 😀

Next blog post coming right up…GIVE ME JUST 300 LIKES FOR THIS, OKAY?

Hahaha I am asking for lesser LIKES this time round because I have quite a number of blog entries pending, and I cannot wait for more than a day before the next entry is up. I want to blog about curtains and blinds and wallpapers and decals and paint and renovation progress and more!

300 LIKES, this should be easy. Come on, let’s do it fast darlings! <3
